Viviana Yazigi, Psy.D.

Registered Psychological AssociateSupervised by Dr. Mary Kate Roohan, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Hi, I’m Viviana.

I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, trapped in their heads, or disconnected from the present moment. Many of the people I work with are highly sensitive people (HSPs) who experience intense emotional reactions, emotional “shutdowns,” or difficulty identifying and expressing their feelings.

Some are navigating anxiety, unresolved trauma, or chronic stress that keeps their nervous system activated. Others find themselves caught in cycles of avoidance or reactivity and want to learn how to respond to life more intentionally.

Our work together focuses on understanding how the brain and body work together to drive distress, processing unresolved experiences, and building the skills needed to regulate emotions and feel safer in your body.

Sessions with me integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and nervous-system–informed care. In addition to gaining insight into yourself, patterns, and relationships, we practice grounding tools and emotional regulation skills that you can use outside of the session.

I am EMDR-trained, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), and I provide psychological assessment services for adults.

I look forward to working with you.

Nervous-system–informed care

I provide affirming, culturally responsive care for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent individuals. I am bilingual and offer therapy in both English and Spanish.

My approach is mind–body focused. In our sessions, we explore how your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences affect your nervous system and identify ways to regulate it. Together, we practice mindfulness and develop practical skills you can use to feel more present, grounded, and intentional in your daily life.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. You’re not someone who needs to be “fixed.” You’re a whole person whose nervous system has learned ways to cope. My role is to guide you and help remove the obstacles that are getting in the way of living the life you want.

3 Reasons To Choose Therapy with Me

Nervous-system–informed care.

Many individuals I work with feel emotions deeply and often feel overwhelmed or emotionally disconnected. I understand how exhausting it can be to feel constantly “on edge.” Instead of asking you to push through or minimize your experience, I will work together with you to understand how your brain and nervous system create these responses and how to shift them safely.

Skills that create real change.

Therapy with me is collaborative, reflective, and practical. I combine ACT, DBT, EMDR, and neuroscience-informed approaches so you leave sessions with tools you can actually use. My goal is for you to build your own therapy toolbox and feel confident regulating your emotions and self-soothing outside of session.

Trauma-informed and affirming support.

As a bilingual, EMDR-trained therapist, I prioritize your lived experience. I provide affirming care for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent individuals. I am here to guide you with curiosity and compassion as you reconnect with yourself.
