EMDR in California

Winnie Cadiz, MA

Registered Psychological Associate
Supervised by Dr. Mary Kate Roohan, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Hi, I’m Winnie.

I’m a queer Filipino American therapist passionate about helping people move through emotional challenges and trauma. I love empowering clients to understand themselves deeply and develop the skills to live authentically.

Many of the clients I work with feel emotionally overwhelmed or exhausted from navigating spaces that don’t always make room for who they are. Some are carrying complex trauma. Others are trying to untangle societal expectations, identity-related stress, or long-standing emotional patterns.

Our work together focuses on building self-trust, developing grounding skills, and creating space for you to live more fully and authentically.

Sessions with me integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic approaches. Alongside trauma processing, we build practical tools to regulate emotions, increase resilience, and support meaningful change.

I am EMDR-trained and currently completing my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology

I look forward to connecting with you.

I care deeply about creating a space where you don’t have to filter yourself. Many of the clients I work with have spent years adapting to environments that felt invalidating or overwhelming. Therapy offers a space to slow down, notice what’s happening in your body and emotions, and respond with more intention and self-compassion.

I believe healing happens when trauma is processed, the nervous system feels supported, and you begin to trust your own internal signals again. My goal is to offer therapy that feels collaborative, affirming, and grounded, where insight and practical tools come together in ways that actually support your day-to-day life.

3 Reasons To Choose Therapy with Me

Identity-affirming, culturally attuned care.

As a queer Filipino American therapist, I understand how exhausting it can be to navigate a world that doesn’t always make space for who you are. Therapy with me actively celebrates your intersecting identities while helping you develop the tools to live authentically.

Practical tools for real-life overwhelm.

I blend grounding strategies and nervous system regulation tools with ACT and DBT frameworks, so you leave sessions with skills you can use immediately, not just insight.

A space where complex trauma can truly heal.

Through EMDR and integrative approaches, I create a safe environment where trauma is processed, not just managed. I value those “aha” moments when self-compassion clicks, and clients begin to experience themselves differently.
